https://www.cbr.com/gangster-movie-most-common-tropes/ I thought this was a great article for inspiration. 10. Marriages Break Down Over Time: Plenty of opportunity for PCs to have romantic relations that result in betrayal, murder or Lolth’s Test of Loyalty. Plus there is the duplicitous patron as a good example. 9. Cops Conduct a Bad Raid: In this case the idea of Drow successfully hiding the evidence could fit into the idea of a house raid being completed flawlessly. Or a plot that is designed to humiliate the house being fixed by the PCs before they get caught. 8. The Main Character Kills Someone: I think a killing - either for advancement or self defence should be a key part of each PCs Academy section. A graduation test as a minimum. 7. Police Corruption is a Major Theme: The Ruling Council is the most corrupt a political force can get. Everything they do should be based on self interest. It would make for an awesomely unpredictable appeal to authority. They’re the heads of the five families basically… but eight. 6.
