I really want folks to go there (click on his sig) and surf from page to page for a minute or so. I need to know whether or not the menu slows things down for anyone, or causes any problems. Thanks!

P-Kitty, I was sort of skeptical about this until I went and played with it at the Dusk site. But now I think it's great! It really does make moving around the site much easier. However, I'm on a high speed connection, so perhaps you want to wait until you hear from some of the dial-up members. It may be a nightmare for them, I don't know.

Edit: You would think I would know better than to post without reading an entire thread. So don't mind me, Morrus. Or anyone else.

By the way SIGIL, by being on these boards you're running a JAVAscript. You do know that don't you??

LOL... natch.

But only when I post (reading parses in a javascript piece that, as far as I can tell, contains a function that is never called)! ;)

It's not worth arguing over... so I won't. You won't see me post on this thread again... I don't think it's needed, nor will it be productive.

Well, I was going to try to add a close button, but since I can't set the value of cookie to keep it closed, it won't help - it will just be an illusion and a waste of code space.

I've been wanting something like the little buttons at the top of the mesage boards [edit: to be on the rest of the site.]for a while. (In that sort of passive I'd-like-to-be-able-to-fly-but-I-probably-won't-get-that kind of way).

This is better. It even runs on Opera perfectly!(major shock.... nothing ever works on Opera properly).

I vote for. Thanks for your work Michael!

How about pros and cons?

Pro :
1) It will make navigation easier.

Con:
1) Since it does not work on every browser Morrus will have to maintain it and a normal menu effectively doubling the work of navigation.
2) Morrus will have to learn to script it or depend on someone else to always be around to change it whenever he wants.
If, as I've understood, it's Micheal_Morris who will maintain it, the cons are substantially reduced.

Having me maintain it is unacceptable to Russ. So now we've begun searching for a way that he can maintain pop-up menus...

Just a comment : It's not necessary to run javascript to use this boards, and I'm very grateful for that.
