What is Metal Gods?

"Metal Gods is a Darwin’s World source book that details the amazing robot and android creations of the Ancients and their place in post-apocalyptic Earth. Contained within this book are new classes, feats, and rules designed for GMs and players to explore the role of robots and androids in their campaigns."

Excellent. That cover is a lot better than the proposed one that was shows on the Darwin's World mailing list a while back.

I don't know a lot about darwin's world, but would this book be usable without the main setting book?

and does the setting use the default CR sytem, i.e. a level 15 character is CR 15 even if it might be more powerfull than a standard level 15 fighter? As I would use this for NPC mainly.

This book can be used stand alone. It's basically an android, robot, and cyborg sourcebook. The intro and story elements are Darwin's World, which is a post-apocalyptic d20 setting, but the content can be used in any setting that needs rules for robots. So to answer you CR questions, yes, it follows the same guidelines.

Good work!

Whoever did this should be hired to redo all of the Darwin's World art. It's very nice.

:D
