Metamorphosis Power / Monster (Su)List??

That doesn't help that much, unless the psion in question happens to be a construct itself: As I read it, Share Power means the psi-crystal is subject to the same effects of a power as its master. It doesn't get to choose a different form to morph into. Hence, if its master can't change his type to construct, neither can the crystal.

Assuming the master is morphing as well, yes. If you really want it to turn into a construct for whatever reason, however, the psionicist can simply manifest metamorphosis on the psicrystal to turn it into a construct:

Share Powers said:
Additionally, the owner can manifest a power with a target of “You” on his psicrystal (as a touch range power) instead of on himself. The owner and psicrystal cannot share powers if the powers normally do not affect creatures of the psicrystal’s type (construct).

The answer to the original question of "Does the psicrystal become what I become when I change form and share powers?" isn't changed by that clause, of course, but the psicrystal becoming a construct is in fact a possibility.

Hmm... not sure why. That is pretty much the only thing going for them. Why not ban Aasimar or Tiefling. Neraph is even LA +0.

You're arguing from a standpoint of game mechanics. I'm talking about verisimilitude. After all, psionics is about the powers of the mind, is it not? And if it has a mind, it's no construct. Just my own opinion, is all.

Warforged are NOT pure constructs. They have construct (almost) physiology, but they still have minds on par to other "normal" races. I don't see the problem with them being psyonic. There is even a PrC that says they embrace their newfound "humanity" and dab into arts, even! So, I don't see what are you aiming at.
Now, wildshape and warforged I DO find funny business. But no problems that I see with psyonics. I could be wrong, though, so, pls enlighten me. (NOT a sarcastic remark, btw. I really don't see your argument as valid even from verisimilitude point).

I never warmed up to the "living construct" business. Right, it's a droid, I get it, but come on, can't you leave those out of a fantasy setting? I like Planescape and steampunk in general well enough, but this simply goes beyond what I can live with in fantasy. I'm normally not the kind of DM who denies players' their character concepts, but a construct psion isn't a character I would allow because I think the idea is neither realistic within the bounds of a fantasy setting nor particularly enriching.

As you see, my disdain is purely a matter of taste and not really worth hijacking a rules thread for.
