Metropolis (The Heart of the City) - Chapter Three

Ba'aktar blinked a couple of times in surprise. This was a side of the gnollish people he was not accustomed to. He returned the embrace, albeit awkwardly, unsure of etiquette at a time like this. Casting a glance over to the elf he couldn't help raising an eyebrow to the lust smouldering in the journalist's eyes. He never figured the guy would go after... a well-stacked dog that walks on it's hind legs?

Ru suppresses a smile at the manipulation evident from the journalist, and decides to see how well Ghost's play works before making any move of his own.

"Jovik..." Jellice speaks, stepping from his embrace and hardly giving him a second look. The gnoll woman sways across to the albino elf, attracted by the look in his eyes instantly and hardly scared to approach him within such a situation.

"Hand who is this charming gentlemhan?" Her soft, furry hands run across Ghost face and her muzzle leans across to his neck and breathes deeply in. "Perhaps yhour friends would like to perhouse while whe partahke of amidday mheal?"

Ru smiles, saying "That sounds like a fine idea," Winking to Ghost, he heads into the piles of clothing, looking for something suitable.

"Jellice, this is Ghost Hound. We'll let you two get acquainted while we look around" say Jovik

Ba'aktar shrugged. This was far, far from his domain of expertise. He followed the others over to the clothing and rummaged about for something that would fit his sizable frame. It felt terrible to have to dress up all fancy-like, but if that's what it took to get his hands on those rich folks' gold then so be it. He scowled at various articles of clothing he came across, repulsed by the vanity that inspired them.

Seeing Ba'aktar's scowl and obvious dislike of the fancy rags, Jovik clasps him on the shoulder "Come on Bruno, every warrior employs camoflauge at some point. The wolf does not get into the fold unless he looks like a sheep, right?"

Jellice smiles wickedly, showing off her polished canines as she turns and sways her way back to her divan, one eye on Ghost the entire time. Her hand waves at the piles of junk scattered everywhere, "Fheel free to lhook haround bhoys, has lhong has Mr Ghost here chan kheep me hentertained hanyway..."

[sblock]The piles of clothes are extensive enough that you can pick up what you need here, feel free to describe what. Also there are piles of other items 'retrieved' from this suburb if you wish to keep an eye out for anything else.[/sblock]

As Ru rummages through the piles of clothing, he finds a shirt sized right for his wide shoulders. Nearby, a brightly-colored vest. It takes a while, but he digs up a pair of pantaloons to match the vest. A simple outfit that should let him move in a fight. He keeps his own boots. They may not be fashionable, but if he's going to be fighting, he doesn't want to be worrying about shoes that don't fit correctly or need to be broken in. Best to stay with the sturdy footwear he already knows.

"I believe I'm ready," Ru says once he's properly attired.

Ba'aktar nods ruefully.

"Doesn't stop me not liking it. Wearing sheep's clothes means not wearing wolf clothes," he says, tugging at his armour.

He had heard of wolves and sheep before. Surface creatures. Some of the creatures in the Ashlands apparently resembled wolves, all sleek and canine-like, crafty pack predators. Sheep were apparently a type of prey, harmless creatures with a thick coat of wool that made them look like puffy white clouds on legs. It was a humourous concept.

Ba'aktar finally found a simple outfit of apparently good taste. It didn't have the same gaudy feel to it as most of the other clothing piled about, "This'll do."
