Michele Carter's Big Playtest Post!

Sounds like the Crimelord/Officer talents from Saga. Nice.

I really like the confirmation of the "set them up for my group to knock them down" modus operandi for the leader, though -- my last D&D character was a leaderesque rogue-based character, go figure!

It's interesting that in Saga, it's a Prestige Class ability, whereas here it's an ability of a base class.

Although, that would be far more helpful if we knew what LEVEL all these characters were. Any chance you could help us out with that Michele? I know I'd like to know at what level these characters are getting these abilities. Even something as simple as saying "Campaigns start at Level 1 unless I inform you otherwise" would be helpful.

I vote Full-Orc or Goblin... Redcloak for the win!

The best thing, to my mind, about this playtest report is that "exploration" seems to be a valid playstyle choice again.

I fully agree. The whole "see the world; find new cultures; meet interesting people; kill them and take their stuff" is an integral part of D&D for me.

The Noble can also transfer actions to other characters with the Trust talent. The PrC talents are just more efficient. Plus I think you could use Trust as a Standard Action and then Impel Alley II with your remaining actions to grant an ally 2 extra standard actions.

The mystery race is gnomes, and all the hullabaloo about gnomes not being in the PHB was just to mess with the gnome-lovers.

Oh, sure.

Andraste: 1st-level eladrin warlord
Kithri: 14h-level halfling warlock
Valenae: 3rd-level elf paladin
Zanne: 8th-level half-elf rogue

Wow... thanks. >_<

Now I know how King Arthur felt when facing the taunting Frenchman... "is there anyone else that we talk to?"
