I think they're in post-production...

It's gotta be coming soon. The unfortunate thing is that it's taken so long to get to this point that they might have missed the boat.....Midnight is a cool setting, but the production of books has slowed down, and with 4E coming, interest may have died. I question if a movie will help.

I guess we'll see. I'd love to see the setting continue, and it would be nice to see a D&D fantasy movie that doesn't suck. Of course, there's no guarantee that this one won't suck, but given the darkness and seriousness of the subject matter, I'm crossing my fingers that it'll have a better chance not to suck....no cheap jokes or anything, etc.

The trailer makes it look like they have taken the subject seriously enough (with the usual type of comic relief that fantasy films tend to have, the chubby tavernkeeper, etc.)

Only that I have read about it in the local (Twin Cities) media. There was a profile on him this past month in the StarTribune that mentioned his plans. The local alternative weekly had a story on the filming of the movie with Twin Cities theater veterans that also mentioned bringing it to cable as one possibility, and that he hopes it could spawn a television series.

Quoted from the July 2007 City Pages story Hamlet Never Slayed an Orc : "<i>In post-production now, the film still has some re-shoots and soundtrack work to be finished. FFG hopes to complete it by this fall. After that, Petersen will shop the project to cable networks in hopes of getting it picked up as a series.</i>"
