[Midnight] Escape from Shadow

Torak

He snarled back with almost friendly smile.
"Don't speak like my mom. I hate her. Thanks for the keys. And better find wounded buddies ... I would help to heal them, but with my arm slashed my skills are limited more than usual. Need to wait this fev days ... All those who die in my care because of that, what a waste."

He scrathed his neck, almost purring with pleasure and looked at two newcomers. Remebering Dorn humbled during the boarding of the ship and reckognising this Earleander with strange tatoo. He grinned seeing vardatch in bald man's hands.

"At least one who know what true weapon is. Unchain Yourselves guys."

He spoke while tossing the keys in the direction of Earlander with tatoo.

Karita

As soon as the manacles droped away, the beastwoman sprung into motion. All the nervous energy that had been stored up in captivity bent itself to escape. Scampering away from the pirate, Karita raced towards the fo'castle on all fours. The violence of her motion did no good to the tense nerves of those aboard.

Only adrenaline and will kept her going; her joints ached with agonising cramps from being bound so long. Running across the deck was almost beyond her remaining strength, but she managed to drive herself to the marginal shelter of the forward mast of the slave ship.

She pressed herself against the mast, and stared wide-eyed back at the humans and orcs, both those standing alive and reclining in death. Streaks of blood surrounding those forms, the coppery pungency at last overpowering the smell of salt that hung about the ship.
 

Methuselas

"Aye laddie, there are more down in tha hold." Methuselas mumbled in the Norther tongue. "I'm hoping you're a good man and not scum though. I don't wanna be tasting freedom just to jammed back in there ya know."
His manner was cautious and untrusting. He looked at the others on the main deck and in particular the orc. "Is it your habit to be leaving orcs alive or do you have unfinished business here?" he said pointing at the freshly unchained orc carrying the blade.

At this point, the beastwoman flew past the group like an uncoiling spring. Methuselas's eyes followed the naked woman as he waited tensely for the Erenlander's response.

Methuselas has a readied action to grapple the orc if it comes within 5' of him aggressively.

Methuselas is trying to gauge whether the intentions of this Erenlander are good or not.

Abdiel

Abdiel catches the keys that the orc tossed him, not quite understanding why this orc was unchained and not dead like the others. He cautiously watched as the wild woman scrambled past him.

Slowly, keeping an eye on everything around him, he tried the keys until he found the one that unlocked the chains that bound him. He then handed the keys over to the Dorn so that he could free himself.

It then occured to him that they were on a ship, in the middle of some huge inland sea, in a fog, with no one steering the ship. I hope that we are not too close to shore, otherwise there is no way that we will be able to save those trapped below.

Who are you? What are you doing here? Where are we? The questions flew through his mind, but he decided to let the Dorn continue to do the talking. Instead, he decided to slowly, calmly approach the wild woman, softly murmuring comforting words.

OOC: Abdiel will attempt to use his Wild Empathy ability or Handle Animal skill to try and calm Karita down. I am not sure if either of them will help, but he is better at dealing with wild creatures than people anyways.
Wild Empathy: 16 + 1 = 17 [Works like a diplomacy check]
or
Handle Animal: 15 + 4 = 19
Once he has attempted to do this, and managed to calm her down a little, Abdiel will look at the dead people on the deck to see if any of them are about the same size as he is whose clothes and/or armor seem to still be intact. He will take the clothes and/or armor of the person nearest his size and get dressed. He will then attempt to do the same for the other ex-prisoners.
I imagine this would be a search check, so ...
Search: 12 + 0 = 12
If it is a spot check, then ...
Spot: 12 + 6 = 18
 

Torak

As large Dorn stared at him suspiciously, and barked something nasty in his own tongue, Torak rolled his eyes.Crap, those humans have extremly short memories ... I remember their ugly flat faces from the start of sea travel.
"Stupid humans ... Ei ! Tatoo guy ! Gimmie that keys if You won't free buddies. Lot of them is waiting for chance to stretch their legs."
Bellowed Torak in friendly tone, while checking other dead orc for keys. After closer look it is apparent that on his black hide are fresh scars from the chains, as well as fact that he looks half starved like most of slaves below ... and not even half as wild in demeanor as beastwoman. Easily reckognisable is also blood covered wound in his right shoulder. Torak thought it trough and tossed one vardatch towards Dorn, so the blade fell to his feet, then picked up another one. He is seemingly happy, whistling some melody, absolutly unconcerned with scene of carnage surrounding them.
"Pirate, You may find volontueers for Your crew in the hole from wich baldie and tatto man crawled from. Damn ... I hope that Your folks killed the legate fast."
Torak's stare found beastwoman hiding in her new place and his eyebrow riccocheted upward while gurgling sound was born in his throat, that give birth to merry laugh.

OOC: Torak slowly walks towards Karita, as if it were afterlunch walk, nonchalantly staring all around. Spot: 16, he automatically fails Bluff check, so it is apparent that he isn't hostile, at least now. Acha, Torak stops his approach on the slightest sign from her.

"Come on ... You defeated orc bigger than me and You fear three humans ? Maybe they smell bad ? Beastie ? Or humans were bad for You ?"
He spoke in calming tone towards the beastwoman while staring all around just to establish his situation.

OOC: Knowledge: Military Tactics ... 23 to find best defensive spot avaible, so amount of attackers would be limited in case that events turn ugly.
