What about those who get their milk straight from the cow or the goat? :)

I know, I know. Just thought I would mention that in case it might affect your poll. For a long time I had neighbors who had goats and so was drinking nothing but goat's milk, for example.

This is a survey for milk production and distribution. So those who get their milk straight from goats and cows will not be included in this survey.

Thanks for the imput tho, but not relevant.

You mean through retail channels then ... not through neighbors and "trading" and what not. Okay. :)

When I was in college, there was a local dairy called Gustafsson farms (or something like that). They had the best tasting, freshest milk -- they even guaranteed it for a week beyond the expiration date.

When it comes to buying milk for my husband and myself, I just buy the cheapest 2%. Usually Kroger brand and if half gallons are on sale, I will buy 2 of those rather than buying a one gallon jug if it comes out to be cheaper.

For my daughter, I buy organic whole milk with Vitamin D added. She is 2 years old and I want to reduce her exposure to the hormones farmers pump into their cows. I believe said hormones are attributing to girls "developing" more quickly and feel any reduction of exposure to this is beneficial.

I would buy organic everything if I could, but, alas, cannot afford it.

hmmm... didnt know that fresh squeezed milk was so prevelant... guess i have to rethink my whole model... ;)

Dog Moon: I like Skin milk
That would be under health...

Aurora: Thanks for all the great input. I will make sure to put that to goo use...
ALSO, That is wonderful to hear. I used to drink whole Vitamin D - until my body decided to go lactose on me.. now I drink soy... sigh.... not that there is anything wrong with soy, I just miss milk...
But yes - whole milk... yummy...

Yeah, I marked that on the above list.

If I always went for a specific brand of milk, woulda added that on. Really, choosing Skim Milk is the most important thing to me about choosing my milk. Brand means little to me and I tend to buy my milk at Target because it's fairly convenient for 1.89 per gallen, which is cheaper than I see it at like ANY other place.

Guess I coulda been more descriptive in my first response.
