Min-maxing your weight limit

Guess you don't need quick draw anymore...

On topic, I side with the player. Tracking 2 lbs. (for items that are already subsumed in most outfits) when the Dm doesn't even bother tracking weight for NPCs is flat-out stupid.

I agree with the DM, when a PC has low STR the weight of cloaths should NOT be negligable.

Clothing
Item Cost Weight
Artisan’s outfit 1 gp 4 lb.1
Cleric’s vestments 5 gp 6 lb.1
Cold weather outfit 8 gp 7 lb.1
Courtier’s outfit 30 gp 6 lb.1
Entertainer’s outfit 3 gp 4 lb.1
Explorer’s outfit 10 gp 8 lb.1
Monk’s outfit 5 gp 2 lb.1
Noble’s outfit 75 gp 10 lb.1
Peasant’s outfit 1 sp 2 lb.1
Royal outfit 200 gp 15 lb.1
Scholar’s outfit 5 gp 6 lb.1
Traveler’s outfit 1 gp 5 lb.1

But...

A beginning character is assumed to have an <various> outfit. This first outfit is free and does not count against the amount of weight a character can carry.

So, strictly reading, only the first outfit ever is weightless and regardless of whether it is worn or not. :heh:

Extrapolating from there, this means, of course, that worn clothing simply doesn't count against your weight limit, unless it is in some way extraordinary heavy.

I see the logic in his statement, clothes feel like nothing when you wear them. But anything more then light clothes would be noticeable. So when he chucks of his boots and cloak no change and when he puts them back on no change.

Says the DM that rullled a wyrmling white weighed 50 lbs.
