Miniature paints and inks suggestions?

Out of curiosity, what is the difference between Vallejo Model and Game paints? It seems that they're both intended for use with minis. The only other obvious difference is that the Game seems to tend toward more fantastic hues. Does the actual paint quality differ?

The paint quality is the same. You pegged it - it's only the colors. I prefer Vallejo overall, although I will use Tamiya or Humbrol acrylics in a pinch. But the best results I've ever seen were oil paints over an acrylic base. That's the best way to go, period, for larger figures.
