Miniatures Handbook - 3.5 issues?

Thurbane

First Post
Hi all,

I am about to start a new campaign including some non-core books, one of which is the Miniatures Handbook. I wasn't aware that this was a 3E book until recently.

My question is this: is there any real issues using the book in a 3.5 game? In particular, I was going to include the base classes and feats. I know some of these have been reprinted in 3.5 books (Favored Soul, Warmage) - are there significant differences in the reprinted versions?

Thanks - T

The marshall has been referenced in Dragon and elsewhere, and from what I hear it is playable as is. There were very few major changes in the warmage from this book to the one it was update in (Aracane?). I don't think I'd worry about major issues from and RP perspective, but I'm pretty loose with the rules.

DO NOT use it for DDM, however, unless you won't be playing with anyone else, those rules are 1.0 and we are easily on 3.x now.

I've noticed no issues with it for D&d play.

Even for DDM 1.0, it has more errors than the original rules and should be completely ignored.

So is the D&D side of things truly 3, or 3.5?
3.5. In fact, I think it was the second 3.5 supplement (after Draconomicon).

Anyone know the specific changes to Warmage and Favored Soul?

The warmage has a slightly different spell list. Each version has the same spells from the PHB, but the other spells are drawn from the particular book they appear in and that accounts for the differences (which is very slight because a number of spells appear in both). Other than that, both are the same.

Not quite:
2003-08: Dragonlance Campaign Setting
2003-09: Miniatures Handbook
2003-10: Book of Exalted Deeds
2003-10: Underdark
2003-11: Draconomicon: The Book of Dragons
