miniatures handbook art and bastion?

The BOVD also had a race of nasty bug like monsters called Kythons [sp] that also stepped on the tyranid 'toes'.

Which in turn stepped on the toes of the Aliens.

I think the art looks pretty good in the book. Very nice stuff.
Asmodeus's Aspect looks pretty bad though...

Okay, okay, maybe I'm crazy here, but I would think that if they wanted to sell the line well for use with D&D that they might want to come out with a solid line of the basic creatures first, especially a range of goblins, orcs, bugbears, and suchlike, rather than stocking obscure creatures like these bugs.

Personal take only, of course, YMMV

(that and it would be nice if the minis looked as nice at the illustrations)

In the miniatures handbook art section one of them is of a cat outsider. It is humanoid in form and has four arms. If you have Bastion Press' Minions Fearsome Foes, or Minions Rebirth or even some of their Oathbound products you might notice it looks just like a Knuk one of Bastion's four armed cat men monster/races.

I noticed that Demogorgon is back to having baboon heads instead of the hyena heads he was saddled with in the Book of Vile Darkness. Or at least his Aspect is.

The current mini line includes 1 goblin, 4 orcs, and 4 half-orcs. No bugbear yet, but I'm sure they'll be in one of the next couple of releases. In the meantime, even if you didn't want to pick up a bugbear from Reaper or one of the other established lines, you could probably get by using one of the orcs or the ogre mini.

Just FYI, I checked with Jim and WotC is not using Bastion's OGC on this, and apparently, Bastion is not the only kid on the block with claim to four-armed feline warrior folk.....
