I wonder what the in game justification for this will be. Has anyone ever hung out with someone and been buffer when they stand within 5 feet of them?
No, but I have managed to dodge, flip, and spin away from an exploding oil truck. Would have been bad to be blasted by that one. Got a sunburn though. That, of course, was worse than when I jumped over a three story building and found that there was nothing but cliff on the other side. The good thing was that I was able to put out my hand slow my fall by dragging my finger tips acrossed it. Still twisted an ankle when I hit the bottom though. I mean, it'd take someone way skilled to do that for very long.
Seriously though, what about yelling out orders/recomendations. This could be accomplished via several means: vocal, hand signals, stomping, telepathy. Have you ever read the latter books in the X-Wing series? In books 5-8 (9?) there's a pilot (Wraith 12, Piggy) who has such aptitude for complex situations that he'll be calling things out over the com channal: "Five, recomend you dive, now," "Eight, recomend you fire, now," "Four, recomend hard to port, now." These comments are in addition to his own flying skills, which are admerable, and have not only increased the effectivness of the unit but also kept members alive.
Perhaps something like that would be common. Or perhaps he's just found a way to tap into the force of Strengh itself (much like an elemential power, I wonder if it'd have it's own plane) and act as a conduit to those around him.
Or, most fun, he could release pharamons that act in such a manner. If only he could find a way to attract women with it. Sadly, though, he seems doomed to survive on his own as the women he loves are slain for revenge. Alas and woe.
