Minimum reasonable price for a suppliment

Free + Fee

If your goal is to provide a suppliment that is good, but to not nescessarily make money, you could try a dual distribution approach.

1) Create the free product and host the free product.
2) Also create the purchased product (these could be one and the same or you could have the purchased product contain extra non-OGC stuff).

Then you could let people buy the product, so it looks "legit" and/or freely download the product. Of course this assumes that you have consent from all copyright holders to have multiple distribution options.

THe inherant problem with free and fee is that as soon as the fee people find the free version they'd feel cheated unless there was a vast disparity between the two.

This is just me typing what comes off the top of my head mind you...

How about making the *core* Open Game Content (aka the Crunchy Bits) of the book free (classes, spells, etc) while making a version of the book that includes exposition material, setting material, artwork, and so on as the pay product (that includes all the OGC material obviously, just nicely built into the whole product)?
