Yet then I'm the sort of person where if I had a lot of money i'd buy the 3 foot long Lego Star Destroyer that costs about $300.

Nope, but I always wanted some cool mini terrians and such. We use minis frequently but I draw the line a big bucks.

For $300, you could buy all the castle brick molds from http://www.castlemolds.com , plenty of the dental plaster to cast the bricks, paint, and the mins used, and still have enough for all three revised core rule books.

Ditto - many of the dungeon rooms and buildings in my story hour use the Hirst Arts stuff.

It looks cool but wouldn't really be useful. I'd spend the $300 on Mage Knight castle walls and Reaper minis and end up with something I could use in a game... (actually, I DID that but with a little less than $300 )

No, but I've already established that there's lots of things that I wouldn't spend money on that other people will do so gladly. And if I had the money, I'd gladly spend a quarter mil on an Aston Martin, while other people wouldn't see the need to have a car that expensive. It all comes down to what you really care about, I guess.

Collectors might spend the $$. Friday I was painting with some people and one of the women had painted a figure which there are only 3 of and did a mind boggling job on it (you should see the dragon on the guys cloak, I would think it would be impossible to get that kind of detail). Anyway she was hoping to get 250-300 bucks for the single fig.
