Honestly, I just don't like the Monster Classes at all-- especially with the confusion over whether they use their original favored class or their Monster Class-- or both.

Using a class you can't advance in as your Favored Class effectively negates one of the most fundamental ways of influencing characters in a certain direction-- and monsters whose Favored Class has multiclass restrictions have even bigger problems. (Githzerai and Aasimar, right off-hand)

Well, you can advance in your monster class according to the advancement rules in the MM1.... it's just not worth it usually.
