Minotaur Legs...

The pic I posted is from Dragonlance.....and he has hooves.

And it was wrong. :)

Cheers,

PS: Dragonlance minotaurs often wear boots, sandals, or other kinds of footwear. Hooves throw that off, including "hoof toes," so I just don't mention the hooves at all.

Nothing says you can't wear a shoe equivalent it would just look different. There are "boots" to protect the paws of hunting dogs from thorns and such. A hooved creature could wear a similar "boot" or "sandal" to support the arch from the hoof to the ankle. And they'd need to, even humans need arch support if we're carrying a heavy load and being digitigrade or unguligrade would exacerbate that greatly.

Humanity is overrated. Why should anything else try to look like disgusting hairless apes with delusions of grandeur? I revel in things as inhuman as possible.

I'll send you a sketch or two of hoof-toe minotaurs wearing boots and sandals.

Does that do it for you?

Nope. The thing I don't like with that minotaur is that it doesn't look bovine at all. More like some sort of Sasquatch, I don't know. Makes me think either the artist never saw a bull's head, or deliberately wanted to make a minotaur that doesn't look like a bull-headed monster.

Here's a minotaur that looks like a minotaur:

If you can manage it without an axe in the picture I'd be even more impressed. :)

But can you fault a guy for giving a labyrs (two-bladed axe that was the symbol of minoan culture) to a minotaur, and putting the symbol of Taurus on its belt? :D

Minotaurs wearing split-toed shoes.... That's awesome Claudio!

I prefer mine bovined legged and hooved, and take the human part of minotaurs in the pelvic structure (they're standing upright, right?) and the hands.

People feet. Minotaurs aren't cow furries or satyrs.

EDIT - Erol Otus pretty much settled the issue back in 1980:

Now that's a minotaur!

I guess it depends on what your minotaurs are supposed to represent. If the minotaur represents the monstrous product of marital infidelity with enchanted livestock... then it's a monster and is supposed to look incongruous.
