There is another point : Miracle is boring, gods are boring and clerics are boring.
Surely this depends on the deity? There is absolutely no reason why a cleric of Erythnul could not go around slaughtering people.
On Innate Miracle: Granted, but by 27th level, nearly any spellcasting character is going to be insanely powerful.
