The game sports a few powers/abilities where you get additional AC because of ghostly images, that make you harder to hit because of the confusion which is the real you. When you're missed, an image is assumed to be destroyed and the AC bonus is lowered correspondingly.
Also, stuff like Barkskin Armor. Same idea, only when you get hit, the extra armor is "chipped away".
Now, how in the name of the gods do you explain that AC is lowered even when attacked by powers targeting Fort/Ref/Will?!?
I realize fluff shouldn't restrict play balance, but what's so over-powered with these effects anyway.
It seems to me adding "each time you hit/miss with an attack that's targeting AC, the AC bonus is lowered" isn't unbalanced in any way. And as an added bonus it makes much more sense too.
What do you say? If you've played a lot with these items, are there any hidden balancing pitfalls I'm not aware of here?
