Although it did have the advantage of lacking David Bowie's Area.

Didn't do anything for me. If it wasn't for the special effects, the movie wouldn't have any consideration afaic.

I still waiting for this from the library, but I did take a look at the book. I couldn't read it. It was like a cross between a graphic novel and a collage/scrapbook done by a crazy person... I just could follow it. I'm hoping the movie is better.
As for Labyrinth, it's one of my favorite movies and I can't wait for the sequel they're working on ( though, right now I can't remember if it's a movie they're doing or another form of media).

Great movie. I didn't enjoy it as much as Labyrinth, but thought is was much better than the constant rain of remakes and sequels we get today.

I reminded me more of Akira Kurosawa's movie "Dreams" than anything else. The plot was definately in the back seat and the "oh wow" was in the front seat.

I DON'T think Gaiman translates well on the screen. His work is very cerebral and, generally, movies are not.

I saw Neverwhere on DVD and that turned out pretty good. You could tell it was done it was done in the UK, and maybe it even helped. It was kinda weird, but now so much that you got lost. I'm waiting for the book version from the library now and the TV series also inspired me to check out all the other Gaiman stuff they have.
