Misc AC

Lvjoker

First Post
I have been running a Dwarven Fighter Defender style for the past few months (Lvl 1 - lvl 5)

It's all been fine and good until recently I made a Dwarven Runepriest and noticed a +4 Misc -2 Misc in the AC. I've asked my DM and fellow players but we can't figure out where they come from. They also appear on my main character... I have attached both the Character Files ( i think) so If anyone could help explain I would be grateful.

seems strange...

AC bonus should be 9 (Magic plate Armor) And you should have a +2 shield bonus, for a Total of 23 AC...

edit:

oh, and with 18/13/13 starting spread you could have 1 more point of wisdom by now. ;) (at the cost of having 1 less con at level 1-3, but already wisdom 15...)

Without looking at the files, are you carrying too much stuff? I remember one character's defenses getting much better when for purposes of the builder I turned several thousand gold into platinum.

I have a Shifter Warden which has the +4/-2 entry, but only when my heavy shield's equipped. Both entries go away when I unequip the shield. Now why it wants to add two entries to get to the +2 bonus, I'm not sure, but it does. I think it does the same with Reflex defence. As far as I can tell, the overall AC is correct, it just adds it in a strange way.

One of my players noticed a similar thing happen to his PC sheet on upgrading to the latest version of DDI character generator. He has both +2 Misc and -1 Misc adjustments to his AC and Reflex. We thought it might be that the AC bonus from all shields was fixed at +2 for some unexplained technical reason, and then a -1 penalty imposed for a light shield (his character is a bard using a light shield). However, that wouldn't explain a +4 and -2 adjustment (unless you've equipped two light shields!).

Cheers, Al'Kelhar

This is a bug in the character builder. My friends and I noticed it last night as well. We don't know why, but presumably it's just a weird miscalculation.
