The San Jose Earthquakes play the Chicago Fire in this year's MLS Cup championship game.

As an Earthquakes fan, I'm obviously rooting for San Jose... but I'm pretty nervous, as Chicago is a very good team as well. :(

In any case, it should be a good game (made all the sweeter that it'll be played in The Home Depot Center, home of the Los Angeles Galaxy... whom the Earthquakes bounced out of the playoffs in the biggest comeback in MLS history :D ).

Way to go Earthquakes!!!

I remember way back watching the Earthquakes in the old NASL of the early 80s. When MLS started, I was glad San Jose got a team, but The Clash? Fortunately, they went back to the old name (how was that decided, anyway?--I had left California by that time).

Anyway, I watched much of the game. Chicago never gave up, but they just chunked a couple golden opportunities. Like the penalty kick and the poor guy with the ball at his feet, two feet in front of an open net. I still can't believe he missed it.
