[MM2e] Salton City Needs Heroes! - OOC [CLOSED]

Hmm.... some of those requests could be problematic (especially if the producers decide to assign room mates)... :D
Indeed. Viking is turning into quite the Prima Donna. Roommates seems like a scary proposition. My choice seem to be a viking, a drunk, or someone who'll stay up all night watching late-night reruns. Hrm. :erm: Hey, Rev. I don't suppose I can trade you whoever I get in exchange for the Japanese schoolgirl? :]
Nah, scrap that, he just travelled to US by freight-ship and brought his own supply of wood with him :D.
Pity, I'd kind of grown attached to the idea of Viking demanding a sauna in his contract, and arriving to find that the bathroom has a metal pan for burning one of those yule log things made from compressed wood chips. :)

*considers the advantages of including an improbably large mallet in Keiko's inventory*
Ah, the hyperdimensional hammer.

I think it would work best as a strike power, as the physical hammer is never really there except when hitting people.

Stike 6, Non-lethal, Limited target: Perverts. Maybe a few ranks of accurate. Shouldn't be that expensive.

Hehe, yes...but a bit sillier than what I'm going for, I think. :)

Though I suppose her TK-augmented strength suits another anime trope - the situationally strong girl. I swear I wasn't planning that though!

I have a couple of design questions. I guess I should explain my concept, when trying to figure out how a 10-foot tall pole would fight, I came up with the idea of what I call a flexi-brick. He hits hard enough, but instead of just being a solid object for other bricks to hit, he tends to just bend out of the way.

"To bend like a reed in the wind - that is the real strength"

. . . kind of like one of those self-righting clown toys. It won't take too much to knock him over, but to make him stay down, that's the real trick.

So question the first: Can I apply a power modifier to a feat? Specifically Instant Up with the modifier of Action (Free -> Reaction). So basically his reaction to being knocked over is to bend at the ankles rather than really falling, and then snap back upright instantly.

And question the second: I have this image in my mind of some fool of a Juggernaut type trying to run into him, only to suffer the Wile E. Coyote style fate of the failed catapult, and be flung back by the recoil when Ten snaps back upright. I basically figured this to be Absorb (Physical, limited: Overrun, Rush, Slam) which boosts a weaponized flight power. But technically Absorb runs off damage, which overrun and slam don't actually do. So I need to ask permission, or see if we can work something else out.

Relique, here is something I'm considering....

Michelle is a bit of a tinkerer. She’s going to have Computers, Craft (Electronics), Craft (Mechanical) and Knowledge (Technology) as part of her skill suite. I'd like for her to have constructed a mechanical cat which will be bought/constructed with the Device power:

[sblock=Nocturna]Tiny Robotic Cat (Faux Black Fur) [Device Ranks Required: 6]

Code:
(-05) Str 3 Dex 20 Int 3 Wis 12 Cha 7
(+09) Skills: Acrobatics 8 (+13), Climb 9 (+5), Notice 11 (+12), Stealth 8 (+10)
(+03) Feats: Equipment 1, Improved Initiative 2
(+18) Powers: Flight 1, Immunities[sup]2[/sup] 14, Super-Senses[sup]3[/sup] 2
(+08) Combat: Attack +4[sup]4[/sup], Defense +4[sup]4[/sup], Initiative +13 (Ab Bonus + Imp Init)
(-03) Saving Throws Toughness -4, Ref +6, Will +1

Equipment(Integrated Tech)[sup]1[/sup]
Digital Camera 1, Computer (PDA) 1, Concealable Microphone 1, Video Camera 2

Immunities[sup]2[/sup]
Aging 1, High Pressure 1, Life Support 9, Radiation 1, Starvation 1, Thirst 1

Super Senses[sup]3[/sup]
Infravision, Low-light vision

[sup]4[/sup]Includes +2 due to size

Nocturna has the ability to fly by having integrated thrusters in her paws and has propulsion by a small engine that emits force by releasing it from where the cat's anus would be. :uhoh:[/sblock]Nocturna definetely adds to the feel of bad wrong fun for me...

Here's what I'm thinking so far for NPC's. These would represent Complications, I think...and the agent is also the basis of some of her Well Connected and Contact feats.

Taicho Sugoi: Japanese Archon. The popular and effective Taicho Sugoi (which, if I'm not horribly wrong, means something along the lines of Captain Amazing) is a crime fighter in Japan, technically part of the military though he's so often loaned out to do publicity stunts and events that most don't associate him with the government. His powers are lower key than his American counterpart Captain Superior, but he makes up for it in keen perception and detective skills, as well as some mentalist abilities including emotion control. It's been suggested in some conspiracy theory circles that his frantic fandom is at least partially due to subtle emotion tweaking at his frequent public events.

Captain Superior: American Archon. Keiko ran afoul of Captain Superior when she stole a priceless Japanese relic while it was touring American museums as an exhibit. Though considerably more powerful to her in raw physical terms, he had problems actually finding her due to her skill at misdirection and evasion. This paved the way for Sugoi and Superior to temporarily join forces to catch Keiko and recover the relic. Taicho Sugoi actually did a great deal of the work in figuring Keiko's moves out and tracking her down...and it was his emotion control that stopped her from escaping...but Captain Superior was the hero of the day, who visibly and publically apprehended the villainous 'Kitsune,' while acknowledging (but subtly downplaying) the assistance of Sugoi.

More to come...

As I said before people might not get the characters or references I've put an sblock at the end to aid this and will probably do that for most posts where he changes unless i get bored, I'm thinking of adding wiki links to each one too but who knows ;) answered questions coming soon.

[sblock=Intro tape]

Flashy graphics sweep across the screen and a fanfare from a generic quiz show plays before the phrase

***Mister TV***

blazes across the screen

A picture appears of Lloyd Grossman "Now who would send in an audition tape like this?"

The video goes from Lloyd into a graphic of a keyhole which reveals Sherlock Holmes on the other side

"Its elementary Mr dear Lloyd Elementary" says Sherlock Holmes "as far as I've been able to deduce it has to be a certain Mr TV"

"Yes its me kids! and ladies and gentlemen of course" says the shape of a human in a green and purple diamond lycra outfit with rectangular black glasses on acting as a mask and black boots
"and you want to know why I should be in this show in the house well let me tell you!" Mr TV is smiling all the time with a toothy hollywood grin.

Which transforms into The Mask's familiar green face but as a cartoon version
"Because I like to P.A.R.T Why? because I gotta!"

the catoon mask morphs into Robocop
"Because somewhere there is a crime being commited"
Robocop fires off a round or two and a scream is heard off screen.

Robocop morphs in David Dickinson
"Because he's cheap as chips"
Camera pans out and in again Mr TV is facing the other way to what David Dickinson was and says "hey!" with a look of fake hurtness on his face.

I know what your viewers really want thats right TV and who has it all me?! *Mr TV's real face morphs into several reconisable faces in a few seconds including Jerry Springer, Tony the Tiger, Ann Robinson and Jack Baueur*
"Whatever you need whenever you need it, all of your telly all of the time you won't need another channel when I'm around!"

*Mr TV morphs into porky pig saying thathathahtha thatssss all folks*

[/sblock]

[sblock=who those people are]
  1. Lloyd grossman is from the TV program through the keyhole
  2. Sherlock Holmes there has been loads of TV dramatizations of him
  3. The Mask was a kids TV cartoon after the famous film
  4. Robocop was also a live action series, a bad live action series :)
  5. David Dickinson is first from a program called bargain hunt where contestants had to find antiques to sell at auction for a profit his catchphrase was "cheap as chips"
  6. Ann Robinson is from the weakest link a harsh mistress of a quizmaster who makes contestants take the walk of shame when they get voted out
[/sblock]

Quick questions the Q&A is that a written reply or a video again?

Heh heh heh..

Captain Superior:

SNIP

It's funny you mention him... You just added a whole new dimension to his involvement in the series. It looks like my sith abilities are improving...

So question the first: Can I apply a power modifier to a feat? Specifically Instant Up with the modifier of Action (Free -> Reaction).

I'll allow you to do that... but realize that some people might start calling the 10 Foot Pole the 10 Foot Punching Bag the first time they see him spring up.

And question the second: I have this image in my mind of some fool of a Juggernaut type trying to run into him, only to suffer the Wile E. *Thinks* I'll have to search through Ultimate Power to see if there's something that would help in modeling that out.
