Any thoughts on the politics or economics of 3.5 are swept away when the postman hands you a heavy parcel, which you rip open, crack open the new books and get that aroma of new books - a familiar scene across the UK this morning I'm sure.

Now which one to read first

Err. No, my point was: No matter how cynical I may have felt about why 3.5 was being released (especially in the light of Monte Cook's comments) I still couldn't wait to rip the parcel open and have a look at them.

Oh - and they smell nice (my old ones stink of cigarette smoke)

Initial impressions are very positive (much better laid-out)although I've mainly been looking at things that affect my current characters (paladin and bard). However, the new write-up of the Leadership feat seems somewhat vague wrt. followers.

Maybe a Moderator should delete this thread before I dig myself any even deeper hole.

Nah...

While the WotC new book smell is NICE... NOTHING is as good smelling as the EverQuest RPG books. The process they used to print them makes them smell different than any other RPG book I've ever bought. I finally went to talk to the printer that printed them (at Origins) to ask THEM why they smell so good, and she explained the printing process involved and how she also loves the smell of those books.
