Who would want to be a Jayne or River wannabe when you could be a Wash wannabe?
Because I'd rather be playing with guns rather than with plastic dinosaurs.

Gawd! At least get some decent D&D dragon miniatures, Wash! Dinosaur toys and Hawaiian T-shirts do not mix.

:]

Finally, an MMORPG that not only will support playing a character like Han Solo, that'll be what it's centered on! (And no, that's not sarcasm. I still view Sundog as one of the all-time great computer games.)
I dunno, dude. I bet five minutes of getting into the game and blasting off into space, and you'll be swarmed by Reaver ships.

Meh. Not interested. The appeal of Firefly for me was the characters, and obviously they won't be a factor in an MMO. There was nothing all that original or special about Firefly's setting, IMO.

Plus, even if they do manage to get this thing out in 18 months (highly doubtful, unless it totally sucks), only the really hardcore fans are going to remember the series by that time. And I doubt there's enough of an overlap between them and potential MMO players to keep a game afloat for long.

I suspect the number of Firefly fans is still slowly growing as it is aired on reruns. While some people may have forgotten the show by that time, they wouldn't be the people likely to be interested in a MMO.

There were only 14 episodes made, it can't air in reruns for very long. I think the buzz about Firefly peaked with the release of Serenity (which only broke even) and has been dropping off ever since.
