MMO's and their Winter Holiday Events

Anarchy Online has the usual santa leets hunt(they carry presents which are fun social type items), in newland there are a bunch of defective toys running loose(there is a quest where if you kill 3, you get an snowman), some giant santa leets give away trees, ornaments, and santa suits and hat. Usually there is 1-2 gm run events too, but those aren't announced beforehand usually.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Festivus!

Each chest gives you festival coins, which you turn into the Festival Jester for random goodies - cakes, cookies, and candy canes OR, if you've been naughty, twigs and lumps of coal.

FYI lumps of coal double as thrown weapons.

BoB and Wicked Rebellion will be having a mean naked coal fight in pvp on new years day (thelanis server) so save them lumps!

In Tabula Rasa they have put up christmas trees (they are called holiday trees, btw, for political correctness) in all major location where you can get christmas (holiday) hats by lighting them (not up!).

Not sure if there are bigger events planned, but I suppose so. Havn't been following all the news. :)

Bye

The Guild Wars event takes place in Kamadan and Lion's Arch.
As well as in Ascalon City and Droknar's Forge.

Which game are those from - Prophecies? Factions? Nightfall?
Lion's Arch, Ascalon City and Droknar's Forge are in Prophecies, while Kamadan is in Nightfall.

As for other Guild Wars Holiday events:

  • The Halloween event (i.e. the Return of the Mad King) is held in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. Mad King Thorn makes an appearance in the event's finale (October 31).

  • The Dragon Festival is held in Shing Jea Monastery (Factions) each summer, in which Emperor Kisu makes an appearance in the event's finale.

That's the first "Thelanis Live Event" that has ever interested me. It's like playin' dirt clods!

Now to go level up a halfling ranger... muhahahaha.

Perfect World is supposed to have a Christmas Event, indeed it should be going on as I type this because it's servers are based across the international dateline.

Unfortunately I haven't worked out what that event is supposed to be. The Engrish translations of that game have me scratching my head and seeking forums to puzzle out what the hell they actually mean on a regular basis.

Oops, I forgot to mention the Canthan New Year Festival in Shing Jea Monastery in February.

Last year's honored animal was the Celestial Pig, while this year's might be the Celestial Rat.

Looks like festivus will be over soon in DDO, but the new patch will give a lot more of the classic D&D feel & critters they keep adding.
