Model for Avenger?

Awesome suggestions, guys, thanks.

I looked at pretty much everything on figure finder, and nothing really works for me. The female one comes closest, but our game has been going for a while now and my character is decidedly male :)

I really like the Druids of Orboros idea... may try that out.

Thanks to everyone who helped out!!

How about the Witch King from Games Workshop's LotR? I think the one with him starting to pull his sword out of his scabbard is the best, but there are of few other "big sword + cloak" possibilities. Check out some of the ringwraiths from the Attack at Weathertop. Also, the woodelves, or rangers models, all from the LotR line (search around the site).

If that wasn't $25 I'd be all over the witch-king. That's very close to what I'm looking for in my avenger of the Raven Queen (hunts those who shun death).

Some of the Black Legionnaires might work.

But the best ever saw for matching your description was an old mini- Grenadier? Heritage? Ral Partha? I can't recall- with of a guy in a great cloak with an unsheathed 2-handed sword resting point down on the ground, with one hand on the tip of its hilt. The sword is essentially the same height as the man.

Its a static standing pose- he's meant to be menacing and intimidating- and most of his body obscured by the cloak. The base is tiny.

You might also be able to find something in Rackham's Confrontation line.

And searching for "bald" guys at Reaper turns up some interesting results that might work.

Hey, totally new to this site and I couldn't find anything much about some rules / etiquette on forum things [like necroing in this case]. I wanted to contribute to this [albeit long past] thread as I'm having very similar issues, looking for a mini to best represent my Eladrin Avenger.

Danny, I think I may have found the guy you were describing - or if not, he's rather close for all intents and purposes. Reaper Miniatures :: OnlineStore The character is called Reeve the Pious. Interestingly enough, he was the first hit when I searched "hood" in the bar. He doesn't exactly fit my needs, but he looks close to the OP's request!

One outside-the-box suggestion would be to look for a suitably cloaked Jedi or Sith figure from the Star Wars miniatures, then do a little work on the lightsaber to make it more sword-like.

Indeed, that can work pretty well! Either some editing to the lightsaber or replacing it entirely could be good. Here is a good example of such a figure, which I've also been considering: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/$T2eC16NHJGoE9nuQeSHwBP6yUOTnSQ~~60_3.JPG

EDIT: I have found some interesting prospects. If I used this guy as a base: http://www.miniature-giant.com/tariq-ranger-chief-oop-Reaper-WarLord-WL-sku-14094-c-167-p-4-pr-1872.html and did some surgery, this could work! I would take his head off and replace it with that of either an elven character with long hair [all the way back, if possible - most is swept to the side it seems] or of a hooded figure, elven preferable, whose head and hood I could reasonably incorporate to this design. I'd also want to take the helmet out, or file and cut it to look more like a holy symbol. I'd file some of the details of the chest piece off too.

For reference, this is how I envision my Avenger [my work, here]: http://seprenmaelstrom.deviantart.com/art/Eladrin-Avenger-Morrithar-251472946 It astounds me how much of this mini's outfit structure matches Morrithar's as I came up with. I am scouring for the right options!
