Modified spell lists -- the DMG witch, for example. Does it work?

Dude! Don't insult.
I could just as easily guess all sorts of rude stuff about your thought processes, too. But that would invoke the wrath of moderators.

Please forgive me, it was not my intention to insult, which is why I prefaced it with "Without more information..." I was assuming that there was something about your particular situation, something that you had chosen not to share, that made this question more complex than it seemed to me (and others given the responces). Again, if you took it as an insult I apologize for that was not my intent. What I was wondering, and I should have stated more clearly was this: what in your experiance or understanding would lead you to ask your initial question? I ask because in my estimation keeping track of a homebrew spell list is not more or less difficult than keeping up with any of the standard ones, especially given the multiple possible sources like Spell Compendium from which one might draw spells.

'K.

No, it's nothing more complicated than material for discussion's sake. ... Our most beloved characters can survive for many years, after all, and sometimes important records or addenda can be lost -- or accidentally modified. "Core" or professionally published materials provide a fairly solid base for reference over time, but individual, personal sheets of paper? (shrug) ... That's all.
