Modos 2 - free demo

Within striking distance of Halloween, there's an updated free edition of Modos 2 in the ENWorld downloads and at DriveThruRPG. So if you were hoping to run a nightmare-thriller based on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, but on the tabletop, now you can.

Here are house rules to get you started:

Mostly Dead: when a character becomes Mostly Dead, scribble black ink 1/3 up his drawing/limb from the source of his Rot. After the rot spreads, all PCs begin the scene anew, with empty physical damage pools. When the character's limb is all black, reaching Mostly Dead kills the PC, as the rot spreads to his head.

Mental Taint: a character's Mental damage applies as a penalty to all Mental contests. A mental contest Con that would have been a Tie or Pro without the Taint penalty includes delusion or psychosis in its outcome.

It went a little under-the-radar, but Modos 2 deluxe is available on DriveThruRPG. For the small deluxe fee you get lots more powers, explanatory sidebars, an extra rules module and a lengthy real-play demo. The free edition, of course, remains free.
