Modrons Look Funny?

How about that? This is a modron I might actually use.

Ditto. I never cared for the art on prior renditions, and I was having a hard time understanding what all the fuss was about.

This version, though, speaks to me. Love the steampunk feel to it.

So for you modron experts out there, what is the Great Modron March (other than a Planescape supplement)?

"I find you lack of polyhedral sides... disturbing."

Polyhedral sides?

Yo, dawg, I herd u like sides, so I put sides in so sides so you can roll while you roll.

EDIT: Also, what polyhedral sides might look like:

I would like to see them make the front-line monster modrons look this cool.

I mean, this 'monster' looks like he needs help pumping his gas or something.

Dude! That's the unholy spawn of the War of the Worlds tripods and the All-Seeing Eye from the back of the US Dollar bills!

Modron Conspiracy!

Every certain amount of cycles/years, the Modrons would send out a mass pilgrimage across the planes for their own unfathomable purposes. The path they would take is the same, regardless of if other beings set up cities or other obstacles in their way. Many modrons are lost along the way, but a few usually eke their way across the Great Ring to return to Mechanus (or whatever their home plane is called now).

It looks cool but more like a construct. I never liked the fleshy modrons; I'd prefer them to be crystalline.

Since modrons were closed IP, and since inevitables already had the construct niche filled, I went with cloud of living mathematics/nanite swarm for Pathfinder's LN outsiders the Axiomites. :)

What other ideas have folks used for LN outsiders in their campaigns?

I am saving your nanite swarm for future Outer Planes exploration. Great idea.

The Paizo Guide to the Multiverse book by Shemeska is a great resource for planescape-minded DM's.

Naw.

I like Modrons looking a bit silly.

Granted, that's because I see them as being rather silly creatures.

Granted again, that's because my most recent encounters with them have been in a very silly BESM game titled Planescape: Magical Girls.

It's a bit cheesy and low-quality, but this is my take on the Great Modron march using images from the module and the CD track from A Player's Primer to the Outlands...
