Module Template

First Post
I created a module template for my own usage and in the process added enough information that I think someone might get some use out of it. It's graphic free for a variety of reasons, the majority of which stem from trying to write a module with graphics in it using Word. Also to save ink as I'm a cheap bastard prior to a module going 'gold'.

Anyway, you can see it in pdf here, www.keyourcars.com/files/ModuleTemplate.pdf and get a copy of it here: http://www.keyourcars.com/2008/07/24/module-template/

As the post says it's a living breathing document right now and will be expanded at some point with some simple graphics for section headers and the like but in general personally I don't want so much color on it it comes out of the printer wet. You can of course add whatever you like.

It does include the mandatory Wizards information and I did add in a Creative Commons license.

And of course if you have any ideas for improvements feel free to post. The layout is roughly based on the KotS module although it's from memory as it wasn't my copy.

This could be useful, but I suggest creating styles for the various headings, and making sure the heading & text styles for different types of powers/magic items/monsters/etc are included.

Excellent idea!

Updated:

Probably the biggest change is there are now styles for most of the... well styles in the document so it's a lot easier to modify the look and feel. Be careful it's easy to break the stat block though if you change the default style.

I added a basic tan title page if you really and truly have a lot of ink. I didn't run it to the edges because most printers don't do that unless you specifically print a borderless photo. It's easy enough to drag it that last little fraction though. And by not doing it it makes it easier to handle.

On the last page are some basic boxes that you can use for section headers and sub heads as well as pull out box that you could use to point out a specific rule for an encounter or offer optional information like a way to change the encounter difficulty. And there's a read aloud box the help distinguish those from regular text.

Location is the same as the first post and zip file is the same name.
