I'm happy for you, but I loathe that errata. Well, the part about the EB being a mere [1st level-equivalent spell if you're not using invocations] anyway.

Why? What's wrong with it being a "mere 1st level-equivalent spell"? It now makes it USEFUL (as you can actually Metamagic it now), whereas the only downside shouldn't be an issue (if you're at a level where enemies have Globes of Invulnerability and you aren't Eldritch Chaining and Vitriolific Blasting your enemies yet, it's your own dang fault). It just made the whole thing simpler now.

I just think it should scale normally (or like it was originally supposed to in CA), & allow the warlock to voluntarily lower the spell level to use metamagic SLA feats. I don't think warlocks should be forced to have to buy EB essence & shaping invocations. Mind you, I did think some were worth buying before this errata (Vitriolic Blast, to be sure).
