Another book has jumped into the Mongoose offices this week - Into the Crucible, the second story arc book for the Babylon 5 RPG and sequel to The Fiery Trial.
Spanning the entire Earth Year 2259 (second season of the TV series), players will be plunged into story arcs that are set against the backdrop of a galaxy going mad. Wars, plagues - and a stirring of something very ancient will be set before the players. The Fiery Trial is not necessary to play Into the Crucible, but they link together very well and players who were pursuing Alison Fernandez will be pleased to hear she appears in this story arc too!
As always with these kind of books, I won't spoil any surprises. Suffice to say that players wil be taken on a rollercoaster journey, locating a Techno-mage artefact, engaging in covert missions on Io to prove a conspiracy, working with a lost Dilgar and pressing forward with humanitarian aid in the midst of one of the biggest battles the galaxy has ever seen.
Normal work for freelancers working on board the Babylon 5 diplomatic station! There are plenty of UIniverse Today handouts, plus some new rules for the special characters involved in this winding story. . .
