Hi guys,
This week sees the release of the latest instalment for the Babylon 5 RPG – The League of Non-Aligned Worlds Fact Book. Written by Babylon 5-guru August Hahn, this mighty book is your one-stop shop for information on the major races of the League.
The Language of Politics chapter takes the League apart piece by piece, examining how it is structured and how it actually works with all the different races pulling in different directions. The descriptions on parliamentary procedures and the functions of the ambassadorial entourage should get the creative juices flowing for any Games Master looking for a political campaign in Babylon 5 while wanting to keep the storyline away the main movers and shakers on the famous diplomatic station. An excerpt of a session from a League debate should point the way to some fascinating roleplaying.
The five largest and most powerful races of the League are covered in minute detail in this book – the Abbai, Brakiri, Drazi, Gaim and Vree. Each chapter is divided into several sections, covering the roleplaying aspects of each race, its biology, government, military, history, worlds, technology and spacecraft. Each also has a prestige class or two unique to that race’s culture to flesh out characters and make them more than just ‘another’ alien.
To answer the inevitable question from Babylon 5 fans – what about the other races of the League? Well, drop us a line! If you want to see the other races of the League in greater detail, let us know. . .
The League of Non-Aligned Worlds Fact Book is a full colour 200-page book, priced at $34.95, and available from all good games stores and book shops this week.
