Hi guys,
All the B5 fans have heard of the Babylon Curse - it is certainly alive and present at Mongoose! Whether it is ill health, mistakes at printers or files going missing during the approval process, no line of ours has ever been as dogged as Babylon 5.
Hope still remains though. We preserve onwards and the fruits of it are revealing themselves - as in the latest book, Point of No Return, being out next week in your local stores!
Written by August Hahn, Point of No Return is your definitive guide to all the events, characters and technologies of the Earth Year 2260 - the third season of the hit TV show.
This book kicks off with Personalities of 2260 and updates some familiar faces, as well as introducing new ones. Fans will be pleased to know that Lieutenant Corwin and Vir are both showing signs of progress and that Londo is well on the path of damnation! Listening to your feedback, we have also included the telepathic abilities of the characters with 'talent' so you no longer have to fill in the blanks yourself. Marcus Cole, of course, makes his first entrance here. . .
The Galaxy of 2260 is the biggest chapter, giving you a comprehensive guide to the storyline and the background behind the story throughout the entire year - a great boon for those of you conducting story arcs alongside the main theme, and giving a great deal of 'setting' for those who are not. Fans will know at least the gist of the story (I won't give away the cliff-hanger here!) but to give you an idea of the supplemental material in this chapter, both rules and background-based, sub-headings include the Bonehead Manoeuvre, B5 Emergency Procedures, Julie Musante (eek!), the Vindrizi (with Keeper of Memory template), atmospheric hyperspace jumps, Hague's defection, Centauri wedding traditions, B5 Postal Service (don't mess with it!), Babylon 4, Walkabout, Zarg, and many, many more. . .
Rules Additions introduces some core concepts into the game, to update it to the new timeline. Here we have rules for the Death of Personality, Telepathic Target Acquisition, guidelines on using Babylon 4, and the Shadow Heart template (for those bound into Shadow vessels. Then there are two new prestige classes I just know are going to be popular - the Centauri Prophetess and (drum roll) the Anla'shok Ranger!
The last chapter, Equipment and vehicles, keeps pace with the technology of the new year. As well as more mundane items as bomb sweepers and screamers, there are Centauri Blockade Mines, Drazi warships - and (another drum roll) the Shadow vessels. These include the main warship, fighter, scout and shuttle. Your players will not thank you. . .
Point of No Return is priced at $24.95 and will be available in your local stores about this time next week.
