Mongoose Collector's Series

I'm definately buying it for 3 reasons:

1. I'm a big fan of the Quint books
2. Kobolds are cool
3. as a PDF it's cheaper and thus easier to rationalize my spending money on yet another gaming book :D

On a side note Mongoose does a good job with their PDF-only books, I have the Slayer's Guide to Kraken and was impressed.

I like both print and PDF. With print I get a good binding, with pdf I can choose what I am going to print and make multiple copies of the parts I need.

In my estemation there are several boks that Mongoose currently has in print that I would rather have as PDFs, in at least two cases even though I already own them in hardcover. (Ultimate Feats and Ultimate Game Designer's Both have large sections that I would not want for every game, but would indeed want for others.)

Others, like Book of Strongholds & Dynasties and Book of the Sea I definitly prefer having in hardcover. Most of the Quintessential books also fall into the prefer print, though I could go for both in the case of the Powerclass books. (Hedge Wizard is the most used third party product in my collection. Having it on PDF would mean being able to leave the print version in my bag while using it for creating NPCs on my computer. Hedge Wizards have almost entirely replaced adepts in my games. )

All this and...

4. The rules content is easily copy/pasted and then edited for re-use.

Yeah, but Nymphology sucked... I'll probably not get this until I've read a review or three.

I like PDFs for the simple reason that until they actually see use, they can snuggle safely on my hard drive, where they weigh noting and consume no shelf space. And, as BN mentions, you can then drop them right into your game notes.

That said, for what I think kobolds are useful for, I find the MM entry more than sufficient. ;)

So, I'm gathering that there are no "collectors" of the Quintessential books, then? I was under the impression from discussions with other gamers that there were certain people who bought all of the Quint. books to keep their collections intact.

I'm gathering that's not entirely the case, and people are just looking at e-Kobold as "just another PDF".

I used to.

I stopped buying them sight unseen somewhere around druid or dwarf. I still pick one up now and then, depending on the buzz, a quick review and how interested I am in the topic.
