Mongoose: d20 Judge Dredd

(Clint Eastwoof was always my favourtie for Dredd)
Heh. Only if the Judge Dredd movie were shot some 30 years ago, during his Dirty Harry stint.

I can't see him being Judge Dredd during the time the Stallone movie was produced.

Personally, I kind alike Stallone as Dredd. It is Rob Schneider that I dislike in the movie, providing too much comic relief.

Re: Dredd in US

I'm pretty curious how Dredd D20 will be received in the states. Many American's only exposure to Judge Dredd is the horrible Stallone movie. Of course being a comicbook reader I loved the older stuff and it still holds a fondness.

Do you think Dredd is going to sell in the US or will it be pretty much a UK game?

As long as there are comic book geeks alive in my age bracket, there will be a market in the US for a Judge Dredd game. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find that old GW box set?

Speaking of which, I have many fond memories of playing Judge Wright (Street Judge, no pun on the name, it is my actual surname :D) and I feel that what GW did really captured the feel from the comics (UK and US versions alike). I was wondering, in your honest opinion, if you feel that you have done the same (the inclusion of the mutants in lower city, the smokatoriums, back issue comic books being considered a black-market item, those HUGE tanks that the judges had, etc..)?

You'll have to wait for a statted Judge Death :)
Mind you 'You cannot kill what does not live' is one tough hombre, don't have any visions of low level judges arresting him!

The tanks you refer to are the Manta Prowl tanks. And yes they will be featured in the vehicle rules.

Rippin' cool, man. Rippin' cool.

What about Slaine?

Everyone here keeps talking about Dredd (which I think is a superb character, don't get me wrong). But is this system going to include rules to play campaigns based on Slaine? I mean, he's as much part of 2000AD as Dredd is...

Slaine is getting his own game, or so I hear on the Mongoose mailing list. Which really is full of crunchy goodness.
