Mongoose in 2006 (and a bit on the Industry in General)

CONAN

I have to chip this one in because if I miss it out, people will start saying it is cancelled. Not a bit of it! We have locked Vincent Darlage in a tiny room without light or air for the past 12 months, forcing him to write the most detailed sourcebooks yet for Hyboria. You’ll see the fruits of this throughout 2006...

Good :) His work has been outstanding (as has the whole line)

So no hints at all on what the big release for Conan is?

Little overdue for an update, isn't it? :)

Yup :) But, if they started negotiations back then, it is possible we could see it this coming year. As Matt said they can't talk about it, if it did happen to be Midkemia, then I wouldn't expect there to be an update on the Midkemia site yet ;)

However, I don't think it is Midkemia. I do think it's Monty Python.

But, the product I'm waiting to see from Mongoose is The Horned God Complete Campaign. The only other thing I've gotten from the 'goose this year is the Paranoia card game. Since The Horned God Complete Campaign was mentioned in last year's end of year report, it has been stalled indefinitely. Any news, Matt?

I am curious about this one too. Is it still alive or has it been shelved? I dig Drow War and am drooling over parts II and III, but thought the writeup on Horned God was very cool.

Hi guys,

Turjan: The Glorantha book will be purely RQ, no D20, no HeroQuest.

Belenumeria: I'll see if I can put together a post or two covering each line over 2006. BTW, come January, you will be able to look on our site and see not only what month each book or miniature comes out, but what _day_. . .

EternalKnight: Well, the Lone Wolf main rulebook is about to go to reprint! I can guarantee 100% that Lone Wolf will be supported _very_ heavily in S&P (and, hey, it's free!). As for supplements, no solid plans yet but you never know. . .

Sanseveria: It seems that it is _possible_ for WotC to sub-licence Star Wars, as we have begged and pleaded to do various bits and pieces with us (really, we have prostituted ourselves for that one). However, they still have a direct responsibility to Lucasfilm and so they are uneasy letting anyone else take over for them, we believe. Basically, it would be way too much hassle keeping an eye on what another company is doing (which I can sympathise with).

Scouger: I would really like to see the Horned God campaign come out - however, it is going to take a lot of editorial resources to do, which we cannot spare at the moment. So, it will come out, it is just a question of when.

Talking of complete campaigns though, Drow War II is due to appear in shops very soon, with Drow War III appearing just a month later.

Teflon Billy: Oh, lots of goodies for Conan :) Let's see, we have Tito's Trading Post, Stygia, Shem, Faith & Fervour - and my personal favourite, Hyborian Empires.

Think Birthright in Hyboria.

Hope this helps!

As I plan on giving the new Runequest a try, Glorantha seems to be the natural fit, anyway. The book will also be less cluttered with stats then :). I'm really curious which areas and which era you choose. It's hopefully not too centered on Dragon Pass, even if I like Kerofinela a lot.

Hey, that sounds great! It's time that someone picked up Birthright's game idea, and in Hyboria that might be lots of fun :)!
