I thought it was a tad excessive for you to deconstruct his post bit by bit, but I do find it interesting that when asked about MGP's reputation, actually providing a less than lilly-white answer is somehow offensive.

I should clarify that there are some decent folks working for the company, in spite of itself.

well, there is no proof being offered to the claims. And this isn;t the first time he has come into a thyread, claimned to know things, but offer no proof. He also claims to be in the know somehow but hides his identity. So, take it with a grain of salt

Say what you will about MGP or Matt, it shows a real cool guy to come down into the boards and shoot the breeze with the fans. And apparently, he's concerned with getting all our business, so I wish him good luck. ;)

This would be in contrast to all the publishers that don't, right?

Look around; ENWorld is the hub of the online d20 community. Contact with fans is no longer an optional extra for companies -- it's the standard. Morrus and co really deserve praise for creating this kind of environment. All, the same, the fact is that direct contact is No Big Deal. The one guy who deserves extra props for bothering to come here is Gary Gygax.

Calling them on shady mechanics or T&A or poor editing is one thing, and wounding their integrity is quite another. If you're gonna be wishy-washy about it and not step up and take responsibility for your vague allusions, it's not helping anyone.

I'm mindful of ENWorld's policies here.

And twofalls? Congrats on overcoming the encounter. Here's your 3,000 XP.

3,000? Woohoo! That makes me a third level poster and gets me a feat! I'll be taking Canny Bloging and get a +1 to my WPM!

You can believe whatever you like. Whether you do that by listening to PR, listening to my allusions, or making a genuine effort to find out more yourself is entirely up to you. I merely invite you to explore the third option.

Also, my identity isn't hidden at all. My name's Malcolm Sheppard. I've written for the Mage and Exalted lines, Dark Ages: Fae and I am the principal designer/developer of Adamant's Terminal Identity line (cyberpunk genre rules for Modern/Future D20 games).

I absolutly will agree with you on that one. I was very gratified to be able to write him a note thanking him for D&D. I hope I can do something similar with Arneson some day.

I do, but I just ask that people support opinions with fact. We have a lot of people spoting no substance on both sides.

I haven't seen WotC bigwigs around these boards for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, but I don't think it's hurt their sales in the slightest.

They have the option to not come here and talk, and they do. That's worthy of praise in my Monster Manuel (he's a furry, horned beast who wears a giant hat and a poncho!)

Ignore is another handy feat.

Ignore
Prerequisite: Base Will save +2 or higher.
Effect: This feat allows you to disregard another's posts.
Normal: You must read every post, no matter how asinine.

The Auld Grump

*EDIT* Whoops, forgot part - This feat may be taken multiple times, each time affecting a separate message board.
