Mongoose Publishing's Rep...?

my biggest problem with the Quint series (and the Races of XX series) is the lack of consistency between the books.

As for atlantean edition of conan, it DOES have quite a few errors in it. For example. The Bossonian Laguage isnt on the character sheet.

Matt: Thank you for your post. I was one of the lurkers you thought may be reading the thread, so I would say that it was a good idea for you to post it. IMO, you made your Will save.

While it has been sometime since I have pruchased anything from Mongoose, I do recommend that my FLGS carry your products. They tend to sell and a lot of people want them. In fact, whereas most ENWorlders may shy away from Mongoose books over editing and other snafus, I would say that the majority of customers probably never notice.

Personally, I enjoyed the flavor of early Mongoose products, but am not a fan of your current Conan, Paranoia, or Babylon 5 lines simplely because they are so far out of my price range. The prices are such that they exclude me from the market, especially because I cannot use it in my regular games.

Cheers for that.

While I have you Dave, are you aware of our Pocket books for Conan and B5 (priced at $19.95)? Is that more in line with the price point you are after?

You guys really need to hook up with Monte and have a Pocket Arcana Evolved.

Well Matt, I've already said that I'm no fan of your D20 stuff based on early impressions, but after I play Paranoia I will certainly post if I enjoy the game.

I have looked through them. I placed them on the list of products to have my FLGS order. I am lucky enough to have friends that own a store and they have me create lists of what books they should order. Although, they have been having a very tough time getting Mongoose products from Alliance, their distributors.

I do own the main Bab 5 book. I am an extreme fan of the series. My main issue though is that the rules do not seem to allow for much action and the large episode guide was a turn off, especially when the main book did not include Sheridan or the Shadows. Bab 5 would be far more appealing with some tougher characters (d20 Modern approach) and maybe a wp/vp system. They just seem too weak for me right now, but I will admit that it has been over a year since I have looked at the book.

Never been a fan of Conan, so that has not sucked me into the mix.

I am happily looking forward to your drow campaign book. I hate drow, but I love massive campaigns, so you will get some of my dollars there. ;)

On average though, books are starting to price themselves out of reach and I get a 40% discount and the occasional free book from WOTC. Mongoose puts out a lot of material, so it is difficult to keep up and it is also hard to get my friends to keep up the pace at their store. They just do not have the money that they'd like to spend on their RPG section. Every $50 dollar book is a serious investment for them, especially if that book does not sell quickly.

So yes, the pocket books are within the price point that I find acceptable and I recommend them to people who cannot afford the main books.

Does Mongoose have representatives such as the WOTC delegates? I mention this because I think that you guys could be that much more successful if you could get people running demos using Mongoose products in the stores, not to mention giving the stores a reason to buy Mongoose product. My friend's store always stock products when a demo or event is planned and they usually get pruchased.

Would you mind dropping me a line at msprange@mongoosepublishing.com and letting me have their contact details? That is something we can fix right away, and I can arrange some demo teams to visit to boot!

One thing I don't like about Mongoose, or many d20 companies these days, is that they tend to have a very "fire & forget" mode.

Outside of Conan, we've seen little errata or web support.

Bothered by the poor editing in Sheloth? How about a web expansion with the NPC's with the correct stats?

I would suspect part of the problem with Mongoose not releasing errata is that when have acted quickly to deal with problems like with Jeremiah, they get complaints because they have released errata.

Personally, I appreciate when admit errors and move to correct them. Thanks Matt!

But most of the time, it's just an admission of errors as opposed to actual corrects with a promise to do better in the future. Sheloth came out a long time ago and outside of the 'net' knowledge that it had messed up NPC's, not a lot of web support or mention of it on the web. At least with the Ultimate Arcane Compendium they put together that 10 page reference with some other goods.

I haven't picked up Jeremiah. You and others have indicated that the game has issues. This is another NEW game right? I'm not saying same old same old but... an admission of errors... a promise to do better... and well, here we are again.
