(Mongoose) Slayer's Guide to Centaurs - PDF

The Slayer's Guides will likely go to PDF at some time, though we like to keep about a year between them selling out and putting them into PDF format. In addition, we got a lot better at prediciting print runs after Gnolls and Centaurs, so (hopefully) it will be a while before we are out of stock on any more.

As for other books, it will be unlikely, as they will be _very_ large as PDFs, and we have a few other plans for them. In addition, I would like to start introducing completely new material to the PDF market, starting with the very next release (probably out next month) - the Book-That-Could-Not-Be-Printed!

wow, that's pretty cool. I wish more companies made there books, both inprint and out of print, available in PDF.

Just to let you know, we ARE working on this :) We've already got Atlas Games and Pinnacle Entertainment on board with this. We expect to make big announcment shortly on 2 more large vendors joining us. We have inquires from several others as well. We expect to do some print ad promotions soon so we plan to round up as many other vendors as we can to get involved in offering their OOP products on RPGNow.com! Hell, who couldn't use an additional revenue stream from an old product?

Hey Matt,

You know that Adobe Distiller has some nice options for down-sampling images in the PDF. Just today I took a 160 page 19mb PDF and down-sampled it to less then 3mb in size with no noticble print loss on the screen or average quality printers (150dpi). The 300dpi version was about 6mb with high quality output.

Most customers don't mind a download of less then 10mb. Never heard a complaint at least. Besides, we do offer a BURN TO CD (on demand) option for our customers. We also plan some Print-On-Demand (POD) options in the near future.

Thanks for your support!

Sounds like good news to me, i've picked up some bootleg PDF's of books i own. I prefure haveing a print copy to read through, and a pdf to print out what i need for any given situation, it cuts down on what i need to haul around. It'll be nice to see more companies doing print and pdf.
