Because the SG came out before the SRD was updated, Mongoose can sell their entire print run of SG Yuan-Ti without any fear of reprisal from WotC. But, because Yuan-Ti have been removed from the SRD as of last week, they cannot ever reprint the book without substantianally rewriting it...and, er, renaming it. So, Matt doesn't have to worry about any WoTC lawyers callling him up soon with regards to the YT book as far as I can, what with not being a lawyer meself.

No, Wizards may not ask for a recall. However, it may be within their right to send a Cease & Desist Letter.

As others have mentioned this seems extreme and counter-productive. A C&D would be forcing a recall - how else could you Cease selling a product?

HH - interesting comment, I had not thought about nobody being able to reference the SG-YT.

Ranger: not a cease and desist, but rather a breach and cure (by the terms of the OGL and d20STL) which would give Mongoose still another 30 days before they would have to pull the product from shelves.

You are correct. I thought the C&D would be rather less painful than a Breach & Cure, by just discontinue printing more copies of the product, making that the limited supply definite collector's items.
