Mongoose Starship Troopers

Yea it seems to take from all three…

BUT leaning towards the CGI Animated Series. The Armor really reminds me of that, with “Apes” and heavy armor as sort of specialized armor that is used mostly for lightning strikes.

Where the movies come in I am not really sure, except maybe in the ultra-patriotisms/anti-bug (“the Universe is not big enough for the both of us”) stance. It has been a while sense I read the book, but I don’t remember it being that ‘thick’. NOTE that that is one of the things that I did like about the movie (1st one, ever saw the 2nd), was the whole “kill em all” and handing out Ammo to kids so that they could do their part to save mankind from the insect hoards

This is d20 correct?

What are the general firearm rules like? As you may or may not know, I'm not a fan of d20 firearm rules in general and it seems that large guns would play a pretty major role in a ST game.

Well they seem pretty close to D20 Modern in most regards BUT the big change of course is the number of Hit Points you get... Mobile Infantry start with HP = to your Constitution score (civilians start with 1/2 their Con or 5 whichever is greater), and most classes give 1 or 2 points (although some Psi give 0 points, and I don't think civilian classes give any either). So the base gun does 2d8, 4d8 with Burst Fire, etc...

If the Miniatures game is any indication, they'll be light infantry used for garrison purposes or when they need to get a lot of bodies into action real quick. So far the Mini's and RPG have meshed so I dont see them changing that aspect.
