Ohhhh dear. This could be very good, or very bad.... I used to own most of the Quint books, and they were definitely hit or miss. I'll wait for reviews to decide.

Depending on what my financial status shapes up to be in a few months, I'll probably pick this up. The old series was pretty decent overall, with most of the books having some really cool stuff, some really lame stuff, and a lot of functional but boring stuff. They weren't top shelf for me, but they were solid enough to be worth having.

Then you better hope that Matt and the Mongoose folks go over the material and make them more useful for D&D/d20 gamers, rather than take for what they currently are (including those lackluster missed products) and do a straight conversion.

I don't even see how a straight conversion would be possible. PrC's don't translater directionly into the paragon paths too well.

I don't mean a direct conversion, but if some who are dissatisfied with the content of current 3e-compatible Quintessential books find more of the same despite being adapted for 4e rule, why bother buying it?

All I'm saying is go over the material and see if you can make it better and more appropriate for 4e. Or start from scratch (and get it heavily playtested).

Hi guys,

The new Quintessential line is completely new, written from the ground up for 4e, by Italian studio Asterion. Expect something very pretty!

As one of the authors and the project manager for the new Quintessential line, believe me when I say that everything has been either fully converted to 4E or (most of the time) created from scratch.

While we're trying to take all the best ideas from the 3E Quintessentials, D&D 4E just requires a different kind of attitude when you write new powers, paragon paths and the like. We're also emphasizing the quality of our artwork, as we believe we have really talented artists in our team (you might take a look at some of their previous works here).

I hope you'll be satisfied with the result, just as we are now. The Quintessential Wizard is almost complete now, and I'm sure we'll be posting a preview of the manual shortly.
