Mongoose's "The Drow War I - The Gathering Storm"

Does anyone know who did the maps for this series?

I am not sure who did the maps (edit: Jesus Barony), but it's one of the unfortunate lesser points in this module. I have decided to either put the work in to place it in on another set of campaign maps (Have you guys seen the map for The Kyngdoms?????), or create my own maps and "campaign world" to fit into the game.

I am using a different pantheon (the pantheon from "Book of the Righteous" from Green Ronin), and will recreate the maps, though use the rest of the campaign's general story arc. My players were originally told to be from wherever they want in any background and it could work, but I am going to slowly bring their personal back stories into the campaign as well, with some changes so they feel like it is a parallel version of their original world.

I must say that Cavalorn has really made this a very interesting piece of work and after the 1st game session last night, the party REALLLY had a blast. Jim Oakenbough is a real pest to them! GREAT Job so far Cavalorn (and the editing is pretty good too, Carnifex, though a few typos here and there snuck through)

Are there any web enhancements planned? I would like to see a single page of NPC stat blocks (or I will just make it from the PDF -- which I bought just moments before gametime to enhance DMing with my laptop and to copy-paste stuff into DM Genie.)

Maybe some updated maps or something else?

I'm the editor on Book 1 (and I know that by saying that I'm putting a big target on my forehead :p but there we go).

For those wanting to know about maps, the cartographer on Book 1 is Jesus Barony.

Any chance of getting Ed from Skeleton Key Games or Todd from WoTC/Green Ronin to hit up the maps for future books?

I'm excited. Someone finally took how I actually write out my campaigns and did the work for me! :)

Admittedly, it's from Mongoose, and it's about Drow, so I'm cautious. Mongoose has burned me, and the drow are hardly unique and special enemies...but I'm still optimistic.

Generally, it's jut good to see adventures being published how I actually want to play them. :)

Love the module.

The maps... VERY sad.

I agree -- and in the 3rd chapter, there's a text block about the Saragost Walls. (I think a "location" type entry). It makes a reference to the map of ther city, yet there isn't a one in the book. I read in a thread that this was by design, but It sorta sounds like an afterthought.

Personally, I leaning toward using the "city" out of Atlas Games' Seven Cities, or I may have to make one myself in Fractal Mapper or Dundjinni or something (it will be amateurish, but hey, what can I say....)

Either way, the campaign is a lot of fun so far.

Well, first off, I applaud Mongoose.
I'm a big fan of "Mega-Modules" like this.

I own Shackled City and WLD, and am probably going to get "Ruins of Dragon Mountain".

All that said, (to quote another poster) WHY a mega-module about Drow? :\

Because they rock!

Becasue they are one of the most over used, over hyped races in the game and dispite that...people still like them

I've been GM'ing the first book for the last 2 - 3 months and I must truly admit this is a GREAT purchase.
It has lots of roll playing and role playing elements, it fleshes out enough without constricting the DM's creativity. It leads the characters in a path, but doesn' railroad them.

All in all I am really looking forward to running this entire campaign.

My hat is off to Mongoose and Adrian. Well done, fellows, very well done.
