Soon enough, Heather came out of her room, brushing back her long brown hair and settling the blue diamond mask on her face. The suit hugged her curves, the cool blue panel down the middle and the top of the arms, white down her sides and under the arms, the boots and mask the same blue. Tamar smiled and made a twirling motion with her finger. Heather made a turn, and even lifted herself off the floor to turn in the air. “Tch. Ta’ve really grown since Ah last saw ya,” Tamar said. “Filled out. Ah think that might be a bit too revealin’!” she said with a scowl. Heather laughed. “Like yours isn’t?” She came back down to the floor to give her sister a hug. “Thank you, Tamar!” she said sincerely. Tamar returned the hug. Just don’t do anything stupid. Then Tamar held Heather at arm’s length, giving her one last appraisal before stepping back. “Well, it’s been a long time since we raced,” Tamar said with a grin. “Race!” Heather laughed. “You call that racing? You’re way faster than me!” she protested. “You can break orbit!” “So could you,” Tamar said. “It would just take forever.” She tilted her head in thought, brushing her white forelock from her eyes. “Well, you would probably suffocate first,” she teased. Heather punched her sister in the shoulder. “That’s all you have?” Tamar scoffed. “C’mon. Show me your neighborhood.” She stepped back and a black oily liquid seemed to flow over her before solidifying into a costume similar to Heather’s. It was black, with a red, fiery starburst on the left breast. Heather couldn’t help but admire her sister’s toned figure in the tight black costume. “Fine, this way. We can get to the roof.” She gestured, and the window to the fire escape opened. They climbed up to the roof and then stood looking at the stars for a long moment. “Time for Purifyre to see the sights in Freedom City,” Tamar said with a grin. “Come on, Astral.” Flames erupted around the redhead, encircling her body. Though Heather could feel the heat, they weren’t burning anything just yet. She knew her sister had good control over her powers. She’d had them for years now. “This way. The Sentry Statue isn’t far,” Astral told her, lifting into the air herself and heading east. Purifyre streamed after her into the darkness. FIN
