Monks AC stacking?

Does mage armor or bracers of armor stack with a monks AC bonus? What type of armor is the monks AC bonus concidered? The PHB doesn't say if it's an armor, shield, deflection, ect bonus, it just says it doesn't work when wearing armor or shields. So does that mean it counts as both armor & a shield bonus?

It is an unnamed bonus, thus it stacks with any other bonus.

AC Bonus (Ex): When unarmored and unencumbered, the monk adds her Wisdom bonus (if any) to her AC. In addition, a monk gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th level. This bonus increases by 1 for every five monk levels thereafter (+2 at 10th, +3 at 15th, and +4 at 20th level).

These bonuses to AC apply even against touch attacks or when the monk is flat-footed. She loses these bonuses when she is immobilized or helpless, when she wears any armor, when she carries a shield, or when she carries a medium or heavy load.

Mage Armor: An invisible but tangible field of force surrounds the subject of a mage armor spell, providing a +4 armor bonus to AC.

The spell does not create armor, it provides an AC bonus of type "armor" -- that is, the bonus provided by the spell does not stack with actual armor. The spell is not actual armor, and would not penalize the Monk in any way.

Likewise for Bracers.
