Monster Cards

Given the MB, I'm still not understanding the desire for "monster cards." Certainly, it's not something that will appeal to a large user base and therefore would not be worth it to WotC.

Color me confused, isn't this already there? You can copy as RTF, image, ..., so what exactly is missing? You can look at the XML file... ?

whatever, Negative Nancy.

OK, the MB certainly takes away some of the benefits of having Monster Cards. We're assuming it'll go online sometime of course.

The same could be said for almost any published material though - it's online and thus looses some value. But a box of nice cards beats my crappy sheet printing anytime... and I don't have to print everything either. Both are pluses.

I've got monster cards of my own. They're just hand-written on 4x6 inch cards. I could probably use some computer printed ones for complicated monsters (where the printer could cram more high quality small text onto both sides of a card than I can).

Of course, my printer is now broken and I don't know how to print on an index card anyway, but I could buy and learn...

I meant exporting to a card format, standartized (sp???) like the power cards in the CB. Powers have different text lenghts and they manage (arguably, of course) to put them all in one card of the same size, so it doesnt become a mess to keep them organized - a simple tuckbox will do (like these: Super Deluxe Tuckbox Template Maker ).
Sure, you can do that with RTF (hell, I'd do it on Corel, or inDesign), but that would take some effort on the part of the DM...
Yes, I'm lazy. :P
