If an NPC creature follows the Monster Class progression from Savage Species to its highest level, then multi-classes as a spellcaster, would it be able to take advantage of the Practiced Spellcaster feat? For example, if a drider NPC took 10 levels of Drider (the maximum), then progressed through 5 levels of Wizard, could he take Practiced Spellcaster and cast spells as if his caster level was 9? Do the monster class levels count towards his total character level?
